Visit to Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth

This was my first whole weekend free after the project. I decided to join some fellow Malaysians on a coach ride down to Portsmouth. A majority of them wanted to be there for the shopping as Gunwarf Quay is a place for all the outlet stores. However, I opted for the tourist attraction which is the pride or main landmark in Portsmouth, the Spinnaker Tower. The tickets costs GBP 7.00 per person.

Spinnaker Tower

A bit of info from Wikipedia.

The Spinnaker Tower is a 170 m (558 ft)–high tower situated in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. The tower is the centrepiece of the redevelopment of Portsmouth Harbour, which was supported by a large National Lottery grant. Its shape was chosen by Portsmouth residents from a selection of concept designs.

I never regret the decision of making my way up the tower as the view is as far as the Isle of Wight. View Deck 1 have the largest glass floor which gives you the feeling of walking on air where I am seated on in the picture.

Portsmouth is a nice place and was the second University option for my degree but I am happy that I settled for London South Bank University.

That's an interesting tower in the shape of a mast and a sail. Will try and visit this area when on our next plan trip to Europe.

Wow this looks amazing! Were you not scared sitting on that glass? It might break!

Surprisingly I have surpass my fear of heights... No where near to be honest. Kids playing on the glass surface actually motivated me to be on it. They seem fearless. The cable car that we were on was wobbly. That is different. See you in a weeks time. :)

Gunwarf Quay where I was reminded me a bit of Canary Wharf in London. I will willingly take any guests there. Cheers!

It does look like a sail and Portsmouth is a Sailor Town. If you are ever down in Portsmouth, you will never miss it because it is the only sky scraper they have there. cheers!

I was afraid of the same thing as was picturing myself falling from the air. The kids playing and running on the surface inspired me or gave me the courage to walk through the glass surface. It was really like walking on air.
