It's A Wrap.....

Welcome to the new blog currently hosted on rather than sharing space with my parent company site I just installed it about two days ago and have been tied up with other stuff such as the soft launch of and

It is approx 36 minutes before the Year 2006 and I am sitting at home in front of the computer rather than spending my time outside partying and getting drunk like I would in London I guess. Maybe not drunk but I would definitely be somewhere along River Thames opposite of the London Eye where I have celebrated the past two New Years. Well, London is definitely a place in my heart. I fell in love with London because it gave me so little and yet so much. It is the only time I felt independent and felt proud being a minority in almost everything I do.

Both my sisters are out tonight. One is in KL and the other is somewhere on the island which I somehow envy but am glad to be at home to avoid the crowds and the congestion that one would have to bare to safely get home. My mother is downstairs watching One Night In Mongkok on Astro’s Wah Lai Toi and I am upstairs in my room as all of a sudden I had some inspiration to write.

I just had a flashback of what a year it has been for me in 2005. I worked for a Swedish owned retail giant called H&M and had one of the best times of my life. I met people that I would consider genuine and are friends to keep for life. I would have never thought that one day I’ll be working in the fashion industry. At least, it taught me to dress better and how important of image is. I have to confess that because of that, I do regularly go for clothes shopping rather than a week before Chinese New Year.

Besides that, I personally grew so much within the year than I would have if I were to stay and worked in Malaysia. At least, that is what I believe and think so. I learn so many things and definitely am a changed person and learned much more from what one year of university has provided me. Maybe I was just immature during my University year.

Travel wise, I went to Rome (Italy), Amsterdam (Holland), Stockholm (Sweden) and Berlin (Germany). Well, it is something that I would have never done if I were to be based in Malaysia. People would say that I can easily go to those places by simply joining a European tour but it is totally different for me, I took my time at those locations without being forced to follow a strict tour itinerary. I truly did enjoy myself and discovered a passion that I never thought existed once because I was too stingy. I don’t blame myself for that as I always wanted to save and payback whatever I have owed my parents.

As a result of the whole year, I can afford some luxuries back home. I gave my mother some spending money, paid off my course fees to study MCSE and CCNA which is something I wanted to do long time ago, brought them out for some meals and paid half the amount to get my house painted and of course some savings for a rainy day. I am still planning to buy a new computer and earn some extra cash for my exam fees.

I guess that it is all I have to voice out for the year and we will see what life changing experiences and challenges awaits me in the year 2006. It is now just barely 6 minutes to New Year and there are police sirens that I can hear on the background. My mum just burst through the door a second ago as she got excited to see fireworks outside the house. Those guys are celebrating way ahead of time. Well, see you all next year.

Greetings Everyone,

Some of you may be aware that I have started working on a project since February to launch a UK Direct Dial International Call Service. Well, to those who were unaware, now you know.

It is called It is a service that allows you to make international calls by dialing a selection or relevant access numbers. Unlike the phone cards that are distributed or sold on the streets, will only charge you for the minutes you use and not on a pre-payment basis. Hence, there will be no registration, scratch cards and keying pin numbers involve.

All our rates include VAT and what you see is what you pay. The service is accessible from any phone within the UK including home, mobile and payphones. The destinations you call are also discreet as it will not appear on any phone bills.

It has been up and running since February this year and finally, mass marketing of the brand has officially begun and flyers distribution have started and hopefully all will be out by next week. is something I take pride of as everything from the idea to the final product is done by me.

As a favor, I would appreciate it if you could show your support by just visiting the website or just simply spreading the word around. It will also be great if you could e-mail me your feedback about the site and what you think or feel about it.

I do apologize if you are not interested.

Thanks for your time.

Benny Ong
P/S: The service will only work in the UK

Back From Sweden

Well, i just got back from Sweden about and hour ++ ago. It was snowing when I left Vasteras airport. It was super cool to see snow from the airplane windows.

Yup, it might have been a while since I made any post on my blog. My effort just died off for no apparent reason. I will try to post regularly again this time around.

I need to get some shut eye now as I have to get up early to go to work!

Waste Management

I just dug this out from my CDs and was a brief report I wrote when I was in University. Check it out and you could even use it for your own assignment.

Waste management is an important part of the urban infrastructure, as it ensures the protection of the environment and the human health. Humans are capable of producing huge amounts of waste daily and hence it becomes our responsibility to dispose them in a proper manner using correct waste management. There are many types of waste management like Medical Waste Management that requires proper handling and disposal of used medical equipments like needles and Chemical Waste that requires treatment.

There are two major aspects to consider in waste management which are health & safety. All waste should be managed in a way that minimizes the risk to humans. In other terms, it must be socially accepted and efficient in environmental protection.

There are many companies dealing in waste management. Many of them are those responsible of collecting the waste from residential areas. So what does a waste management company do?

Waste management companies collects solid waste from residential, industrial and commercial areas mostly using specially modified vehicles to handle the waste properly. These waste management companies are sometimes privately hired and some are assigned by residential authorities. First, all the waste is placed into a collection point like a large bin using mostly man power. Then, garbage trucks collect the waste from numerous collection points around a specific area.

The waste is then disposed into huge landfills or large dumb situated in a save distance away from the public. Most landfills have an average life span of 22 years and the size varies. This depends of the geographical location and capacity. Landfills must be monitored daily to ensure that it meets all health and safety standards.

Some waste management companies also deals with recycling by converting the waste into energy. A company in America called Wheelabrator Technologies Inc pioneered the technology of converting waste to energy 25 years ago. They have managed to generate over 670 megawatts of electric energy per hour with 16 waste-to-energy facilities, enough to power almost 600,000 homes. The facilities have the capacity to burn more than 23,800 tons of waste per day, using trash as fuel to generate electrical or steam energy.

Methane gas is a reliable, renewable energy source that is produced naturally as waste decomposes in landfills. For many years, this gas has been collected and used directly for industrial use or sold to gas-to-energy plants to fuel engine or turbine driven generators that produce electricity.

What are the benefits of proper waste management? Well, the benefits to me are endless. Properly handled waste can decrease the risk of certain diseases and lower pollution. This will ensure that the community and people stay healthy.

You are playing a very important role in waste management like taking out the garbage for collection. You can indeed do more by separating your waste into recyclable and non recyclable. This will make the job of the waste management companies even easier and you too can make a difference to the environment.

Nothing Much Really?

Greetings Everyone,

Another day in my life. Who wants to know? Well here it goes anyway. I think I am bit late on this as I got tied up and someone else was using the laptop and couldn’t make a post. I was scheduled to work from 9.00-8.30 which is an amazing 11 hours and a half. Mad isn’t it. Well, it was because I miss the last kick-off meeting. Well a kick-off is a start of the season where they will usually brief us about what is to come. It was really a brief and fun one though. The original kick-off was apparently a blast with people dressing up and stuff. Darn, I miss that.

Well, remember about Sunday when I was suppose to watch a movie? Well, the french people felt so guilty about missing the appointment on that day, they have decided to cook me dinner. So after work, I decided to stay back until 9.00 where I headed to one of the girl’s flat for dinner. We walked all the way from Knightsbrige through Hyde Park and down to Oxford Street. The flat was just off near to Tottenham Court Road. It was a freakin’ nice flat. Two bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room with attached kitchen. Really very nice and well kept. The dinner turned out well despite the last minute preparation and lack of ingredients. I tried to sneak out to Sainsbury’s but I never could as I told her that I wanted to go out for a ciggy but she knew I don’t smoke. Well, I had to stay then. Although she kept saying ten more minutes, it felt like it took ages. We has a dish of can potatoes in gravy with mashed potatoes. Call that a variety and a healthy balance meal. Well, the climax when we drank a bottle of french wine and chat about our cultures and invited each other to our home countries.

The night was getting late and I decided to head back home.

It was a very long day and it ended up with a simple and enjoyable meal.

That’s all for now.

A Quiet Relaxing Day (What I Thought!)

Greetings Everyone!

I just decided to spent the rest of the day off and doing a little bit of cleaning in the room. It can be suprising how much dust can hide under the cupboard and furniture. I started making the room look like a war zone and did not expect my sister to come back early to see the mess. I continue cleaning practically throughout the day and manage to squeeze in a short nap. The end result of my hard work, the room looks more organize and my section seems more tidy. Hopefully, it will last longer that way this time around.

My other plans for the rest of the evening will include re-designing as it is long overdue. Do visit the site shortly as I believe that it will be up and ready.

And while I was writing this post half way, I received a call from my old greek buddy from University. Apparently he is back and looking for a flat. So, I had a quick shower but was interupted half way when I got another call from a friend that wanted to return a hard disk case and went down to meet them all. Funny, eh? I was having such a quiet and peaceful time and all of a sudden both of them wanted to meet me. I could spent a long time with them as I have to prepare dinner.

So, what’s on the menu? This time it will be lemon chicken, scrambled eggs with red beans in tomato sauce and green peas coated in butter. By the way, I do cook! Most people don’t believe this. It might not be the best but I can cook to survive.

Before I sign off this time, I would like to extend my greatest condolence to the friends and family of the victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. I saw pictures of the disaster that broke my heart.

That’s all for me, till next time… see ya.

Regent Street Festival

Well, when I was walking down Regent Street yesterday, I was passed a flyer which was mentioning something about a 10% discount at participating stores in conjuction with the Regent Street festival. It did not struck me at that time that the streets will be blocked today and laid with patches of grass. I remembered reading about it when I was back at home in Malaysia last year and wished I was there.

I headed off for a late start after settling some business and took the bus 148 down at Park Lane. I picked up my sister and walked straight to Regent Street. It was packed with crowds of people. There was this stand that attracted us. Every single minute someone was winning one of those massive soft toys. We decided to have a go. How the game works is that you will be given a tickets with random numbers in them. You can mix and match them till they make a total of 21 and you win. We spent 5 quids which gives us about 14 tickets and we did not win anything. Feeling cheated or just being unlucky, we decided to drag ourselves away from the stand before drying out our wallets.

I had Burger King (Super Size) for lunch and was suppose to watch Charlie & The Chocolate Factory but unfortunately, things did not work out. So, I headed home and decided to add a few lines on my blog!

Well, that’s all for now. Till next time….. Goodbye.

P/S: I have managed to add multiple language plugin for my blog. I tried adding a gallery with but it is yet to work….

SFS Model Scouting Party

I attended the Summer Model Scout Party organised by Stuck For Staff (SFS). It was held at the Penthouse which is a club situated on the sixth floor in Leicester Square. The dress code for the evening was Glamour Summer and Sexy Bikini Wear (No one present was aware of the theme I guess?, luckily I did not spend too much effort on it) with over 20 modelling and field marketing agencies in attendance.

The entrance was just around the corner of MTV TRL’s studio opposite Sound Bar. The lift that takes you to the sixth floor are those ones that allows you to view the scenes outside through a glass window. The view wasn’t anything amazing compare from the one in the club itself.

The club boasts a nice view of London Eye and Big Ben and Leicester Square below and had three floors but with the same music. The funny thing is, I’ve always notice the club when I was walking in Leicester Square but never thought that I will actually go there. As we entered at about 9.20, we manage to grab ourselves a seat and a table just right around the corner. It was a quiet start but more and more people started to come in and at around 11.00 everyone started dancing.

The night was enjoyable and we spent around 40 Quids on two bottles of Red Wine (The most affordable on the menu). The good thing was, we got in for free instead of paying any cover charge as we’ve got invitation. It would have cost us 15 pounds each if we wanted to get in on a normal day.

We left at 1 in the morning cause my sister had to work the next day….. Would have stayed longer perhaps. We made a quick visit of each floor before descending to ground of Leicester Square and taking bus 94 from Picaddily Circus home.

My First Post

Greetings Everyone,

Today is the first day of September, what a day to start my blog. Well, the idea of having my blog has been a while now.

When I first register the name, I wanted to create a personal website for me to get in touch with my friends and self promote myself. After about a year of delays and not putting a single effort into the development of it, I just left the domain name and website dormant. Well, hopefully things will change now.

The blog is hosted on my company’s website and can be accessed directly by or the subdomain

Well, that’s about it really. I will try my best to put up regular posts about myself and what I am doing here.

Till the next post, take care of yourself.
